Lac Hong University Labour Union

The Lac Hong University Labour Union was established on September 6, 2000, with an interim Executive Committee chaired by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Lam. In 2003, the first Congress of the Trade Union was held, electing the first Executive Committee with five members, led by Mr. Diep Cam Thu as Chair.

Overcoming many early challenges and growing alongside the university, the Labour Union has gradually developed in strength and has achieved numerous accomplishments. It has made significant contributions to the university’s overall movement for excellence and has been recognized by the Vietnam Education Labour Union as an Outstanding and Strong Grassroots Labour Union among non-public universities.

Representation and Inclusiveness

The university’s Trade Union represents and supports all employees, including:

• Female staff: The Trade Union actively protects women’s rights and interests through various policies and activities. It organizes events celebrating women on occasions such as Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20) and International Women’s Day (March 8), accompanied by gifts, recognition, and motivational programs to honor their contributions.

• International staff: International employees are welcome to join the Trade Union and enjoy the same benefits, participation opportunities, and protection of legal rights as domestic staff.

Core Functions

The Lac Hong University Trade Union effectively fulfills its three main functions:

1. Representation and Protection – Advocating for the legitimate rights and interests of employees.

2. Participation in Management – Engaging in dialogue and decision-making processes to enhance university governance.

3. Education – Promoting learning, professional ethics, and awareness of labor rights and responsibilities.
