LHU Faculty of Information Technology Students Gain Practical Experience at "Mai Am Gia Dinh Viet" Studio

Hands-on Studio Experience

On April 25, students from the Faculty of Information Technology at Lac Hong University visited and experienced a real-world working environment at the studio of the television program "Mai Am Gia Dinh Viet" (Vietnamese Family Shelter) in Tam Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This practical learning activity aimed to provide students with direct exposure to a professional television production environment.

At the studio, students engaged directly in various production activities rather than just observing. They experienced the fast-paced workflow of the production crew, learned how a professional studio operates, and actively produced content by filming videos, interviewing audience members, and interacting with the production team. Through these hands-on activities, students honed their communication and field operating skills while gaining valuable practical experience.

"Mai Am Gia Dinh Viet" is a profoundly humanistic television program initiated by Hoa Sen Group to support underprivileged families across the country. By combining reality television with charitable work, the program not only shares touching real-life stories but also delivers practical assistance to families in need. The authenticity of its content and its emotional depth have allowed the program to create a powerful, widespread impact within the community.

Accessing Professional Television Production Workflows

Throughout the experience, students observed the comprehensive stages of producing a television program. This included content preparation, set design, filming coordination, and inter-departmental collaboration within the crew. Directly observing and participating in parts of these real-world operations allowed students to better understand how a professional program is structured and executed.

Learning from the Production Crew's Real-World Experience

In addition to observation, students had the opportunity to discuss production workflows directly with the crew. The professionals shared insights into industry experiences, real-time troubleshooting during filming, and the specific skill sets required in the media sector. This interaction provided a dynamic source of learning that effectively supplemented their classroom education.

For students specializing in multimedia, digital content creation, or media production, this field trip served as an experiential classroom. Immersing themselves in a professional environment helped them understand industry expectations, timeline pressures, and the essential skills needed to adapt to the field.
