The "Got Talent Search for Talents in Chinese Language and Literature 2023 competing for the Ho Chi Minh City Chinese Consulate General Cup

 

On the afternoon of November 18, 2023, at The Mira Central Park hotel, the Chinese Language and Literature Department organized the final night of the "Got Talent Search for Chinese Language Talents competing for the Ho Chi Minh City Chinese Consulate General Cup and Scholarship Award Ceremony for Students in Difficult Circumstances 2023".

The "Got Talent Search for Chinese Language Department Talents 2023" activity aims to create a playground for students to showcase their artistic talents in music and singing, while also developing exchange relationships and unity among students through cultural and musical activities, expanding exchanges and learning between university students majoring in Chinese language. This event is also one of the effective channels to find scholarships and jobs for Chinese language students at Lac Hong University.

 

Attending the competition were Mr. Xu Zhou, Deputy Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Fan Zhe Yi, Consul Attaché of China in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of Chinese Business Associations in Vietnam as sponsors and judges of the competition. On the side of Dong Nai provincial leaders and departments, there was the presence of Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Department. Ms. Tran Thuy Tien, Secretary General of the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations, Ms. Tran Thi Mai, Member of the Dong Nai Union of Vietnam-China Friendship Executive Committee. On behalf of Lac Hong University, there was the presence of Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of Oriental Studies, MA. Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh – Head of International Relations Office, and all school leaders, department and faculty leaders, media agencies, guest universities including University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology in Ho Chi Minh City, Van Hien University and Dong Nai University of Technology along with over 500 participating students.

In his opening speech, Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of Lac Hong University, said that Lac Hong University has continuously expanded exchange relations with organizations and businesses at home and abroad. Among them, the Chinese language faculty and Oriental Studies are one of the faculties that have strongly developed relations with foreign companies.

The competition aims to create an environment for Chinese language students to have the opportunity to learn more about China and its people, improve their foreign language skills; provide a playground for students to showcase their artistic talents. The competition is also a place for friendly exchange between Lac Hong University and the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, foreign invested enterprises and universities offering Chinese language training in the South such as University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology in Ho Chi Minh City, Van Hien University and Dong Nai University of Technology.

After the preliminary round on November 3, 2023, the judges selected 20 acts to compete in the final round. Of which, Lac Hong University had 15 acts, and each guest university had 1 act.

In the final result, the judges awarded 2 first prizes for the solo singing act from Nguyen Tat Thanh University and the dance act from Lac Hong University; 4 second prizes for the dance, fashion, musical acts from Lac Hong University; 6 third prizes and 8 consolation prizes respectively awarded to Lac Hong University and guest universities.

On this occasion, the Chinese Language Faculty at Lac Hong University awarded full scholarships to 19 disadvantaged students with a total funding of over 200 million VND.

The 20 competing acts brought enjoyable performances with diverse genres and rich Chinese cultural features as well as elaborate props and performing techniques to the final night. The competition received enthusiastic support from students across the faculty. The vibrant atmosphere and colorful memories of the competition will leave a lasting impression on the audience and competitors in this competition.
