VND 766 million in scholarships was awarded to 36 students facing financial difficulties, while nearly VND 1.6 billion in sponsorship was contributed by 85 organizations, businesses, and individuals. Behind these figures are a spirit of sharing, continued support, and belief in the younger generation. These meaningful contributions were highlighted at the scholarship award ceremony, held alongside the Chinese Speech Contest for Universities in Southern Vietnam on October 16, 2026, hosted by LHU at Kim Center Convention and Wedding Center.

Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai, Chairwoman of the University Council, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of LHU, presented a letter of appreciation and flowers to Ms. Ms. Mao Zhaoxia (毛朝霞), Consul at the Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City
The program was attended by Mr. Tran Dinh Vu Hai, First Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and Deputy Head of the Economic and Political Division of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of External Relations; Ms. Mao Zhaoxia (毛朝霞), Consul at the Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam–China Friendship Association of Dong Nai City; Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai, Chairwoman of the LHU Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of LHU; along with representatives of associations, business associations, and Chinese businesses operating in Vietnam.

LHU received sponsorship from 85 organizations, businesses, and individuals to support students facing financial difficulties in their pursuit of knowledge
For students facing financial difficulties, going to university means more than attending classes and taking exams. It also means trying to overcome financial pressure and challenges in daily life. Therefore, each scholarship is not simply financial assistance. It also encourages students to focus on their studies and continue pursuing their dreams.
Among the students receiving support, the story of Nguyen Huynh Duy Thuc, a second-year student in LHU’s Faculty of Information Technology, was particularly moving. Born with a congenital disability, Thuc has faced challenges on his journey to university that not everyone can fully understand. However, instead of allowing his circumstances to hold him back, he has continued to work hard, maintained good academic standing, and received scholarships for two consecutive years. Behind these achievements are his determination, perseverance, and desire to learn and grow like other young people.

Duy Thuc shared his thoughts on receiving the scholarship: “For me, the scholarship not only helps reduce the financial burden of my studies but also gives me great encouragement. I feel that my efforts are recognized, and I have more motivation to continue pursuing my dreams. I hope that in the future, when I am able to, I can also help others who face financial difficulties like me”.
Thuc’s story makes the scholarships even more meaningful. Sometimes, the greatest value lies not only in material support but also in receiving encouragement and trust at the right time, giving young people the strength to continue on the path they have chosen.
From scholarships that help students overcome difficulties to outstanding academic achievements, each story reflects an important part of LHU’s approach to student development: creating opportunities to overcome challenges and nurturing talent so students can move forward with confidence.

The program also helped connect students with Chinese associations and businesses operating in Vietnam, creating opportunities for them to learn about recruitment needs, internships, and employment opportunities. In this way, the support goes beyond immediate financial assistance and helps open up opportunities for long-term development.
As LHU approaches its 30th anniversary (1997–2027), the University continues to uphold its commitment to community-oriented education, develops students’ abilities, and expands opportunities for international integration. The value of education lies not only in the knowledge it provides but also in the opportunities it creates for every young person to learn, grow, and build their future.
