Tran Thi Bich Hong wins 1st LHU Open Japanese Speech Contest

On May 9, 2025, at Auditorium A301, the Department of Japanese Studies at LHU proudly hosted the final round of the 1st LHU Open Japanese Speech Contest, marking a significant milestone in fostering students’ passion for the Japanese language and culture.

The Contest attracted enthusiastic students from universities, colleges, and Japanese language centers across Dong Nai province. Out of more than 50 entries, the Organizing Committee selected the 10 most outstanding contestants to compete in the final round.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Chairman of the Dong Nai province Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association; Mr. Kato Takayuki – Deputy Head of Training Department, Baraen Services Trading Production Company Limited; Dr. Nguyen Tien Manh – Rector of Sonadezi College of Technology and Management; and Mr. Watanabe Mikio – Deputy Director of Konnichiwa International Education Co., Ltd.

Student Tran Thi Bich Hong from LHU crowned the champion of the Contest

Following an intense and inspiring round of speeches, the judges revealed the final results:

First prize: Tran Thi Bich Hong (LHU)

Second prize: Nguyen Bich Phuong (LHU)

Third prizes: Tran Thi Anh Thu (LHU), and Nguyen Tran Dai Duong (Sonadezi College of Technology and Management)

Consolation prizes:

  • - Pham Le Hoang Quyen (LHU)

  • - Bui Thuy Linh (Sonadezi College of Technology and Management)

  • - Nguyen Van Minh Chien (Taiyou Japanese Language Center)

  • - Tran Ngoc Bao Hoang (Sonadezi College of Technology and Management)

  • - Hoang Bao Duc (Sonadezi College of Technology and Management)

  • - Hoang Nguyen Nhat Linh (Hoa Binh Xuan Loc College)

The 1st LHU Open Japanese Speech Contest concluded successfully, leaving many beautiful memories and meaningful moments for both contestants and the audience. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to enhance their self-confidence, personal courage, and their ability to express ideas clearly in Japanese. More than just a competition, it served as a meaningful platform for like-minded learners to connect, share their passion, and foster motivation for further study and personal growth. The Organizing Committee hopes that next year’s contest will attract even greater enthusiasm and broader participation from students of universities across the province.
